About Us
I wear many hats. A web designer, desktop publisher, graphics designer, and office support specialist. I am also a single mom with two teen daughters. We recently moved to the small village of Mulliken, where I work from home with my webdesign business and take outside jobs when the need arises.
In addition to academic work, my past work experience includes a full time Office Support Specialist II position (6 years) where I not only typed up reports and drafted spreadsheets, but also assisted with the development of color proposal documents that were bound in book form for many government and environmental agencies using book and magazine layout software. I am familiar with all Microsoft software programs and proficient in most of them (2003-2007).
My most recent employer was a small mechanical engineering firm located in Grand Ledge, MI. My job was mostly marketing related and some office support as needed. My focus there was to update their website and to create some much needed marketing material for the company to mail, handout or otherwise send to new and existing clients to generate new business. I enjoyed the freedom and creative license that I experienced and decided to invest my time and talents at my own company.
I have been exposed to and participated in most aspects of managing a business, including advertising and marketing. I also gained alot of knowledge of marketing terms and practices in the marketing courses that I took at Davenport University. I did very well in those classes and have applied what I have learned not only to my business, but that of my clients, as well. I would like to pursue my Associates Degree in Business at Lansing Community College by taking evening and online classes in the near future. Hopefully during the summer of 2012.
I have always been interested in photography. I am the type of person that has a large stack of photo albumns and I love to look through them. I have numerous interests, such as crafts, sketching, writing poetry and short stories, singing, reading, raising baby animals, and much more. I find that it is hard to decide which interest to pursue! Most of my photography subjects are nature, kids and animals. I have two small Chihuahuas, two cats, two guinea pigs, one large bird cage housing 3 finches and a diamond dove, and a large fish tank. Whew... sounds like a lot!
Whenever I need technical assistance or have some troubling code that just isn't working the way it should, I call up my business partner and good friend, Tate Schaar. He is a walking genious and helps me figure out anything that troubles me from design issues to java script code errors. I am very thankful to have him as a reliable resource of knowledge and expertise. :-)
